Blue Bayou

A gorgeous looking red with anthocyanin variety bred by Tom Wagner. The segregating lines I grew were indeterminate with some having jointless pedicles. Fruit was mostly round and smooth, but one plant was slightly fluted.

Antho or the black colouring became very dark from the sunshine as the fruits developed, they took on a look of shiny aubergine black globes about the size of large golf balls.

Once ripe, where the sun hadn't touched the skin, was a lovely rich bright red colour and the flesh a deep red or crimson. A very lovely tomato to look at, taste was mild and slightly disappointing in comparison to their looks
